Vista Ranch, Merced, CA
We left Riverwalk RV Park and headed towards our Harvest Host stop for the night on our way to Joshua Tree, Vista Ranch in Merced, CA.
We drove through fog and the giant redwoods for several hours. We also drove through Ukiah, which reminded me of the Doobie Brothers song. So, of course we had to play it as we drove through.
When we arrived in Merced, they welcomed us in and showed us where we could park. A pretty secluded spot behind the tasting room. There were swarming honey bees everywhere, and I mean swarming!
We asked the wine server about it and she said they just dropped them onto the farm for polination. We decided to stay in the bar and try out the wine sampler until the sun went down and the bees were asleep.
Our wine server was very knowledgable about the area.
We had a good conversation with fellow wine tasters and were treated to an amazing sunset as we headed back to our trailer for the night. We were awakened several times by the sound of train whistles. However, we got use to it and I love trains, so, it became part of the experience.
Next stop, Joshua Tree.
