Spokane, WA – Uncle Lee’s Rosary and Funeral

We left for Uncle Lee's Rosary and Funeral on Thursday, October 5th.  The  morning was foggy until the top of the pass, then it rapidly cleared and became a beautiful sunny drive.

We arrived at noon and they allowed us to check in early at the Spokane Valley KOA.  We quickly got set up and headed to Audobon Park to meet Ellen, Ray and Pat for lunch.  They were flying in from Phoenix.

After lunch we went over to Dee and Lee's home and reconnected with so many relatives, Dee, Nancy, Janet, Ann, Jack (who is now Fr. Jack, an ordained Catholic Priest) Connor and Shawn-bug (although he's full grown with a beard now so the nickname seems kind of silly.)

We attended the Rosary Thursday night.  After the Rosary, Ray, Pat, Ellen, Karen and I went back to our trailer, our home away from home, for a delicious lasagna dinner.

The next morning we arrived super early for the funeral which was to start at 11am.  We had to check out of the RV park and wanted to be sure we had a place to park at the church during the memorial.

After spending about 15 summer vacations in a row at Deer Lake when our kids were growing up, it was so great to reconnect with all of our Spokane relatives that we hadn't seen in many years.  We were able to reminisce and relive so wonderful memories with Uncle Lee at Deer Lake.

After the burial, we got back in our trailer and drove to Pasco for the night because we had a wedding in McMinnville, OR, the next day at 4pm and wanted to cut down the drive.

May God Bless Uncle Lee and welcome him into his loving arms.
