Schneiters Bluff Golf Course, West Point, Utah
We arrived at Schneiters Bluff golf course and were greeted with record breaking heat, 105°, our seventh day in a row of 100° plus. This was our second time staying at this Harvest Host location, and for good reason. This quaint little course has a family, friendly vibe, accentuated by the number of kids learning the game from their parents.
We got set up and discovered that our generator could not keep up with the high temperatures and continually turned itself off.
After an hour or two we decided to move our trailer to the shade near the barn at the back of the golf course property. We immediately felt relief. After the temperature got below 100°, I tried the generator again and it worked fine, cooling our trailer down to a comfortable 78°.
We were so grateful that it started working.
Apparently our generator just couldn’t handle being over 100°. We may upgrade to a Honda 2200.
During our stay, we re-committed never to travel to hot places during the summer, the same commitment we made after driving in the heat last summer! From now on we are staying in the Pacific Northwest during the summer months! But we sure have had fun!
While we were there we played two games of cribbage, putted around on the practice greens, and hit a bucket of balls courtesy of Schneiters Bluff! Gratis!
