Sayre, OK

We stayed one night at the Route 66 Meat Processing & Market in Sayre, OK.

On our way we saw some hot air balloons as we drove through Albuqueque, as the annual event was just getting under way.  We also saw the Cadillac Ranch roadside attraction from the freeway as we had spent some time there on a previous trip, bought some spray paint and added our artwork to some of the vehicles, as is customary.

The Route 66 Meat Market was a Harvest Host location and a great place to stay, a short distance from the freeway, but far enough that you didn't hear the traffic noise.

They had a lot of locally grown products, meat, pork, chicken, sausage.  We purchased two packs of pork, 4 pork rounds to a package, and some fig jam, all for about $20.

The front counterperson had lived in Washington state, was a Navy brat, and enjoyed living in Oak Harbor while his dad was stationed there.  We would definitely stay here again, hopefully when we have more room in our freezer!
