Sand Hollow State Park, Hurricane, UT

When we arrived at Sandy Hollow, there was a huge RV in our campsite. The people were nice and told us that their site was double-booked, so they parked in the next closest site and went down to the office to sort it out. In the end, we became friends with them, as they lived in St. George, so we picked their brains about what to do while we were there.

We took their advice and went for a long bike ride at Snow Canyon. It was phenomenal! It was super hot, but great. St. George is a lovely town. It has a 56 mile paved bike path that runs through the town all the way up into the mountains!

While we were there, I had an unexpected tooth ache. Unusual since I just had a cleaning in March and everything looked good. The tooth in question was not even on the radar. I got in to see a St. George dentist on an emergency basis. He prescribed 7 days worth of Amoxicillan, as the X-ray of the tooth looked good.

Before we left Sand Hollow, we took the opportunity to dump our black and gray tanks. I made a rookie mistake, which I won’t go into detail about. Let’s just say it’s the kind of mistake you only make once and we chalked it up to a learning experience.

We stayed two nights at Sand Hollow. Windy and hot, but a great place to stay.
