Patterson, CA, KitFox RV Park

We left Palm Springs at dawn, headed for Patterson, CA, just south of Sacramento.

About an hour into the drive, a truck driver alerted us to a problem with the landing gear on the trailer, the front wheel under the hitch had come loose from the bumpy roads and dropped down. The wheel was sheared off and the metal was dragging on the pavement by the time we pulled over.  I'm sure it was sparking pretty good.

We were able to put it back into position and tie it in place.  We'll have to get a new landing gear wheel when we return home. We were fortunate that it wasn't worse.

We were headed towards Riverside when our GPS re-routed us through some mountain passes to avoid some really nasty traffic.  We saw it on the traffic map, all red in Northern LA.  So, we loaded up with some super expensive California gas, over $5/gallon, and filled the tank for the handsome sum of $125.
Then we took the scenic route.

The campground in Patterson was convenient, not far from I-5 and had everything we needed, showers, level parking, decent electrical hookups.

The weather was still great, upper 70s and mostly sunny.

Karen and I had Coronitas and played a game of Crib until the sun went down, then it got chilly right away.  After Arizona and Southern California, we almost forgot it was still winter!
