Newport, OR

On Thursday, December 26th, we drove the 320 miles, up the coast, through the Redwoods, from Fortuna, CA to Newport, OR.  The first half of the drive was decent, intermittent fog but no rain.

We were surprised to see two large herds of elk along the way.

The second half of the drive was heavy rain, but fortunately, no wind to speak of.  We arrived in Newport as it was getting dark and I was soaked by the time we got set up.

However, I was able to get Starlink set up to watch the Seahawk/Bears game.  The Seahawks won a defensive struggle 6-3.

We woke up at dawn, dumped the tanks and headed for home, a place we hadn't seen since September 16.

We are grateful for the many wonderful experiences, but happy to be headed home.
