Moab, Utah

After two wonderful days in Aspen, we packed up and headed for Moab, Utah.

All we can say is, HOT! 102°! This makes three days in a row of 100°+ weather, after several days of highs in the upper 90's.

After getting set up at the KOA, our first stop was the pool. We also did laundry as it was conveniently located right next to the pool.

While we were in Moab we had some fun adventures that included:

  • Exploring Arches National Park for three hours
  • Driving to Canyonlands, the same day that we visited Arches.  We had never heard of it before arriving there. It was similar to the Grand Canyon, a little smaller in scale, but breathtaking just the same.
  • Driving along the Colorado river to Potash, which featured high cliffs on both sides, and ended at an old potash mining town
  • Riding bikes near Arches National Park on a paved trail that included some amazing scenery along the Colorado River.
  • Eating delicious ice cream cones at the Moab Diner. By now, Ice cream had been a daily occurrence
  • Visiting a little coffee shop and bakery, their iced coffee was very good!
  • Going to the pool all three days. It featured a nice underwater ledge at one end that you could sit on and be submerged up to your chest, a great way to cool our core temperature.

Moab was an amazing place, but I will remember it for the heat! Over 100° every day.

Lots more things to see there. Maybe we will come back someday.
