Meade State Park, Kansas
We had a peaceful drive through Kansas farmland and small towns on Highway 54.
Meade state park was a beautiful little park with a lake about the size of Green Lake.
We took the 2 1/2 mile hike around the lake, then sat underneath the awning and played two games of cribbage.
The mosquitoes were prevalent, but Karen armed herself with skin-so-soft and I used something a little bit stronger to keep them at bay. We still got several new bites that would itch for days.
It was a beautiful sunset. We watched the fireflies and a family of four raccoons foraging near our trailer.
It was a restful stay.
