Lodi, CA
The "atmospheric river" that hit central and southern California had made it over to Palm Springs by the time we left for the next leg of our trip home, towards Sacramento.
We left early and drove through some torrential rains until we got north of LA, which took about 3 hours due to the heavy traffic. One look at the traffic map and we knew it was going to be a tough go.
But once we got to Santa Clarita, north of LA, the rain stopped. About an hour later, we were thankful to be driving through blue skies and puffy white clouds.
We stayed at a place called Flag City Resort in Lodi, just south of Sacramento. It was a very well maintained RV park, right off the I-5 Freeway, but surprisingly, not that much road noise.
We took advantage of their clean showers and got a bite to eat at a local restaurant.
The rest of the trip home was all planned around getting over the Siskiyous in between snow storms, and from Lodi, we could do that.
