Home Again, Again.
In Roseburg, at the Freed Winery, we woke up to very heavy fog that had iced over everything. So we carefully made our way to I-5 and were in and out of fog for the next hour or so, knowing that if things went as planned we would be home today, on St. Patrick's day!
The fog lifted and the rest of the drive home was very pleasant.
We crossed the bridges in Portland and crossed over into Washington for the first time in a month.
We stopped at one of our favorite roadside restaurants, the Country Cousin in Centralia. We used to stop there every year on our way to or from the Seafood and Wine Festival in Newport, OR. A wonderful way to break up the drive!
So to summarize our trip, we left on February 17 and returned on March 17th. The total mileage was 3,290 and we spent $1,384 in gas, $713 on the way down the coast, $671 coming back on I-5.
The highest cost per gallon was $5.09 in Fortuna, CA. The lowest was $3.47 in Phoenix, AZ at Costco, followed by $3.49 a gallon at a Loves in Oregon. Gas rose about 40 cents a gallon the second week we were in Arizona.
We arrived home in early afternoon and spent the next couple of hours unpacking. Another successful trip under our belts. Can't wait to go again!
