Fort Casey Again!

For Karen's birthday weekend, we went back to Fort Casey again, this time with our good friends Ed and Betty.  We had site 9 and they had site 10.  Both of them were dry sites, no water or shore power, but we had our Jackery!

This time it only took 30 minutes to set up the tent.  We're getting faster!  Then we walked on the beach, bringing back driftwood, shells and pure white rocks.

Friday night ended with homemade pizza, cribbage, hail and lightning!

Bunnies emerged from the brush at night and they were numerous.

Saturday morning we had egg & sausage breakfast sandwiches, then went for a walk up the hill by the artillery, then back down to the beach.

The weather on Saturday was beautiful, in the mid-40's and sunny, almost a carbon copy of our previous two camp outings. We were outside all day, from 10am to 4pm.

Don & Ann drove out and surprised Karen with carrot cake and pumpkin pie for her birthday.  We had a campfire with Ed's exotic scrap wood then a steak and potato dinner.

We tested the solar panels which successfully recharged the Jackery from 84% to 100% in about an hour and 45 minutes. Impressive!

We tried to go for a bike ride but the battery on my bike would not seat all the way down in the brackets and consequently would not power up. Weird, but we'll get it fixed.

Our ride home Sunday was uneventful, but we were left with the memories of a wonderful weekend!
