Days 5 & 6 – Fort Smith, Arkansas
We woke up at 5am, left at 6am, headed for Fort Smith, Arkansas. It rained like hell for most of the drive.
We stopped at Walmart in Oklahoma City, needed some ice, water, and bought a 22 Qt Lifetime cooler. It was a sketchy area and thankfully a security guard in a car watched our trailer for us while we shopped.
The rain let up as we approached Fort Smith, AK. As we drew near our destination, we got the feeling the address was wrong. That was confirmed when our GPS said we had arrived, yet we were in a residential neighborhood, not a campground! We called Ashley and she used her internet to research the campground and came up with a different address. Fortunately, it was only 11 minutes away!
When we arrived, an old guy in a golf cart guided us to our campsite. We had full hookups, but only used the 30 amp electric.
Spring Hill campground was simply beautiful. The spent the whole next day there, no driving! The weather was great, 68 degrees and windy. What a beautiful day!
The bathroom shower was cold, but overall a very pleasant stay.
Well, kids, you do like early mornings and driving in less than ideal driving conditions. Thank goodness you are in warmer territory now. By the time we see each other, it will be shorts and t-shirts and lots of RELAXATION…………Be safe and see you soon.
hugs

Thanks Noel! Looking forward to seeing you and Mike!
