Day 3 – Kingman, AZ

Up at 4am, Steve made a U-turn in the parking lot of the winery at 4:50am to start our day.

Karen drove through torrential rain and darkness for the first three hours.   We had no idea the weather in northern Nevada would be so intense, until we saw a sign that said "Be prepared for winter driving conditions."  Then Steve drove through snow and ice pellet showers for the next five hours.

We didn't see the sun until we were heading down the mountains near Las Vegas.  Vegas was 70 degrees and windy.  We were so happy to see the blue sky and puffy white clouds!  We stayed in Kingman, AZ, at our 2nd Harvest Host location, the Desert Diamond Distillery.  We sampled some great rum and whisky.  The owner was salesy, very knowledgeable about distilling.  The location was good, right on Route 66.
