Bennett Springs State Park, Missouri

Our last travel day before arriving at Melissa and Mark's, was sunny and hot, 90+.

It was our second time staying in Missouri, after staying at a KOA in west St. Louis last summer.

Bennett Springs State Park was absolutely beautiful!  The camp sites were spacious, with paved parking pads, grassy surroundings, mature trees and was situated next to a river, teaming with fish and all those folks wanting to catch them.

We were happy to have full hook-ups and started the AC right away.

After getting set up, we walked along the river and watched the fisherman cast their rods.  One might say they were master baitmen, but not me.

We also saw some muskrats in and out of the water near the shore, foraging for food.

We played cribbage and drank Coronas until the sun went down. Karen noticed flashes in the trees across the river.  Fireflies!  It was only the second time we had ever seen them, the first being in Kentucky last year.

What a relaxing evening.
