Bennett Springs State Park – Lebanon, MO
We spent our last night of travel before reaching Melissa and Mark's farm at Bennett Springs State Park in Lebanon, MO.
On the way there, we stopped at two more Route 66 roadside attractions, the Blue Whale of Canoosa and a restored gas station called Gary's Gay Parita Sinclair Gas Station, named after the original owner, Gay Parita.
The memorabilia at this gas station was off the charts. There were a couple of vehicles there that may have been the inspiration for a couple of characters in the animated movie "Cars".
We had a nice campsite at Bennett State Park with a paved parking pad, electricity and dump, but no water. Water doesn't get turned on until April 15th.
The fishing at Bennett was amazing. So many anglers of all ages catching trout. This place also featured lots of very large birds, vultures I think.
It was a great place to relax and get cleaned up before meeting up with Melissa's family the next day, only one hour away.
