Fortuna, CA

Looking ahead at the weather, we decided to spend Christmas Day driving from Lodi, CA to Fortuna, CA, located on the coast, just off of Highway 101.  We bunked down at Riverwalk RV Park, a place we had stayed twice before.

Just to the north of us, between Crescent City and Newport, OR, they were experiencing 70 mph winds.  We knew if we could make it to Fortuna on Christmas, we could hit the lull between storms on the 26th, and be one day closer to being home.  The high winds and heavy rain were expected to keep streaming in between the 27th and the New Year, so we made a run for it.

It was a quick overnight stay, arriving just before dark and leaving the next morning at sunrise, but it was just the right place for what we needed.  Thank you again Riverwalk!
