Roseburg, OR
We left Lodi, CA early in the morning to get through Sacramento before rush hour. Traffic wasn't too bad and it was a beautiful drive.
It was 16 degrees in the Siskiyous overnight, but by the time we got there, around 11am, it was above freezing. Mount Shasta was spectacular as always.
We stayed at the Freed Winery in Roseburg, Oregon, a Harvest Host location.
We were greeted at the gate by our host Maggie, and about 50 sheep. Karen and I both did some wine tasting, which was free if we bought two bottles. So we did! The wine was excellent and reasonably priced, mostly $22 - $26 a bottle.
We camped by the river and it was very peaceful. We felt like we had the place all to ourselves. It had warmed up to about 65 degress so we played cribbage outside and enjoyed the sunset.
It was a very pleasant stay!
