Vista Ranch Winery, Merced, CA

We woke up early, before the alarm, to begin what we knew would be a long travel day.

We started out in heavy fog, which lifted as the morning progressed.   We crossed several mountain passes, but the scenery was great.

There were several more enormous Redwoods along our route, as well as beautiful lakes and curiously tight roads in some places.

We arrived at the Vista Ranch Winery and it took a while to get level. We stayed here last year, but this year it was a lot busier.  Lot's of people outdoors enjoying the great 65 degree weather and delicious wine.

We bought a bottle of their red blend and played bocce.  Happy to relax and enjoy some non-driving time.

The sunset was phenomenal, more vibrant colors than we've seen in a long time.  A great way to end the day.
